As a newbie here not sure if this topic has been covered, but here i go.

How often do you guys clean your clubs if at all? Is there any particular product that you find works well, or any particular method?

Any feedback much appreciated

I clean the grooves out on my clubs after every shot but i dont clean them up. they got a brushed finish so i just brush the mud/dirt off. Some guys polish the chrome clubs etc.

Bucket of soapy water and a nail brush works for me. Bristles get into the grooves with out causing damage and will also lift dirt and grease from the grips. Rinse clubs off afterwards and then I towel dry them. I tend to do this every few weeks and notice a real difference in how the grips feel. I have heard some people say to make sure no water gets in the grips end hole as this can cause rust in the shaft, not sure if this is true or not.

John.

all depends on how dirty they get for me, normally wipe em after each shot with me towel and just put the head covers back on. Will prob give them a good once over every few weeks.

As someone who anhors golf gadgets I am ashamed :o to admit I use the wire/nylon brush on my clubs. I use the wire for my wedges and irons and the nylon for my woods and I use it when required. I tend to sterr clear of washing up liquid as I was told that it rotted the glue on the ferrol.

I remember being told that you shouldn't use washing up liquid on forged clubs as the normal washingup liquids have a fair bit of salt in them. I wash mine with warm water with a bit of car shampoo added. Gives them a nice shine if dried off with a chamie leather and then rubbed with a clean dry towel.

Looks good even if the golf doesn't!

I must admit to using a bit of polish on them now and again. Brings up a nice shine on them. Keeps the woods looking good for a long time as well.

Always clean my clubs after every round, using an old toothbrush, bristles are soft and get into the grooves and clear the residue from the grooves.

Also clean the grips a few times a year to keep them tacky.

Like most I give them a wipe with the towel whilst playing. Every couple of weeks I give the heads a good clean using a nail brush and warm water. I tend not to use soap, the nail brush cleans all the crud off.

Toothbrush method for me also.

Usually clean them after every round or two. Can save you a shot or two having clean grooves.

Okay, the engineer is coming out in me now. A little drop of washing up liquid will do no harm to any glue or finish whatsoever, just dry the club head after its cleaned and if you use a little warm, not hot, water it will evaporate anything that is left. Don’t wire brush the club face, it is finely sand blasted and it helps with spin, use a plastic brush of some kind.

Todays modern glues hold airoplanes, and golf clubs, together and they fly, including the club, through all kinds of conditions. If glue was affected with a little washing up liquid it would not be glue.

good old fashioned ` gob` on them and wipe with ur wifes best tea towel does the trick ....jokin apart ..warm water ,touch o fairy liquid and nail brush does the bizz..du ur grips as well ,that`s also just as important ;)
