I agree about the young award - suspect he will walk that

Even if one did win a couple of golds at the Paralympics

As for the main one - no doubt they can get organised etc

He has done well and won a few but missed out on the big one
 
SPOTY I'd like Joe Root to win, but he won't. Bound to be Hodgkinson, which would be deserved.
Young Person. Darts isn't on the BBC, so Littler could be in trouble, but he should win.
World - Biles has already won the Lifetime Achievement, so it seems a little daft to award her something in her resurrection. Disappointed but not surprised that Scottie Scheffler hasn't at least got a nomination. Just shows the low perception of golf in the world of sport generally.
Lifetime Achievement - Federer - at least he won't be making a comeback, despite having half of his life still to live.
 
Root, Hodgkinson also worthy winners. Makes a change to be a bit torn. Darts aint a sport - is it? Pub game right??

Alex Yee - award for the best comeback ever! He was done...I doubt anyone thought otherwise, except him.

It gets done every so often. Think we had it recently, around the Olympics from memory. Too many pastimes in the Olympics now for me, trick events. Anyway, we can save that for later in the winter, when the courses have been closed for a while longer 🫣. No need to distract this thread
 
I was going to just cut and paste my response from last year but really cannot be bothered. About as interesting a thread as will McIlroy win another major.

I would vote for Keeley.

But, darts is already back in the news cycle for this year’s Ali Pally, might give it to him instead.
On the other hand, it’s an Olympic cycle, it usually goes there.
One way or the other, I don’t think it’s a given for either of them. But the other 4 should be out.

French swimmer versus Swedish pilot ah pole vaulter. Going to be swimming, right? It just has so many more events, even compared to a world record vault.

No idea about the young ones.

He has been superb

Been a lot of oustandjng performances from outside the UK
