I know there's a fair few music lovers on here and wondered what the uptake on Spotify was, and whether it would be worth starting a collaborative playlist. Thought it might introduce us to the music of others and provide something different to listen to that my own, heavily played, playlists.

I got rid of spotify premium but recently got it again as the iPad app is absolutely flawless now (it used to be rubbish). So, so good. Just need to get me a decent smartphone that works now and I can really get my money’s worth.

No, that will cost you £10 a month. Th free version allows you to stream unlimited music from your laptop (with ads).

You can't play Spotify through iTunes, it has its own platform. I'm also pretty sure you can't use the 'offline' functionality with the free version unfortunately.

I have the premium account (tenner a month) and it allows you to hold up to 3000 songs at any one time on your phone / mobile device. You can't then burn this to CD though as it is purely a streaming service.

I have spotify unlimited for £5 a month. I love it. I can find and listen to almost anything. I still have to work out how to share my playlists although they may not (almost certainly) be to everyone's tastes.

It should show on your playlists on the left hand side as a collaborative playlist - if you choose to follow it, you can just drag and drop songs straight in there I think.

If you're streaming via 3G it could rack up the allowance after a while, but I usually download the ones I want to my phone via wifi so there's no cost
