Sport psych Q&A

If Greg thinks he can get people to reach this higher state of golfing consciousness then all the best to him. no one hit balls more than tiger woods at this stage of his career. He COULD go into a relaxed non technical mind set. Going into his bubble also blocked out crowd noise and pressure of winning a golf tournament.

On the flip side, this isn't going to help the regular golfing Joe who can't chip. The reason you are thinking of technical movements is because you simply don't trust them yet.

My advice would be chip balls till you are blue in the face but don't aim at a target. Just get the contact you want over and over and over again. only when you can make this contact without thinking too much about it can you move on to letting your body swing while you mentally control the distance / power of the shot.

I don't think the ingredients of the sausage sandwich, or the HP sauce, that did the harm, it was the break in the rhythm and momentum, and I hadn't looked like having a bogey, never mind a DB, so that then really broke the spell.

ok so there are a few guys who seem to struggle with a loss of form after a short delay either from the halfway hut or maybe after a delay on a tee. I will have a look into this one and see if there is a suitable technique to help that will work as a video.

I guess it depends (as it usually does) on what you are thinking about. Do you start to count up your score and project that to the rest of the round and what you could finish with. If you are playing particularly well and in flow (the zone) then it could be the break and the extra thoughts get you out of flow.

It's going to be a common problem though so hopefully I can find something good to help.

This is just getting out of hand now.

Moderators, can we have this and the last few messages removed from the thread?

I have tried to answer a few questions openly and honestly and it is being used as an unfounded and uneducated attack on my character and credibility.

The questins I have asked are far from being unfounded or uneducated.
I also have a BSc Hons (2:1) in Psychology, I would never dream of calling myself a psychologist.
