Yes or No? NO for me, fantastic player, but I really fancy Rosey to derail the Spieth express on Sunday.

No. The pressure of winning the open is huge, but knowing its for the slam is a complete different level of pressure,

Would love to see it though, speith is one of if not my favourite player, just wish UA would release the shoes, got to be worth 3/4 shots!

He kind of creeps up on folk on tourneys. 2nd round of the JDC he's 6 back from the leader and ends up winning it. Anything can happen with this bloke. I think experience will win in the end or a total outsider will take it. Tough one, but I'm looking forward to it no matter what.

He has a chance but unlikely to do it.

BRW I'm with gmac on one thing; if he wins them all it won't be the "Speith Slam" because it's not the same as the "Tiger Slam". He'll have won them all in the same year so it'll be the "Grand Slam" proper and possibly the greatest achievement in golf ever!

Yeah but Spieth Slam is easier for the media types who need a soundbite every 30 seconds.

There's a few players out there in form and could challenge him, but its a yes from me... providing he gets the best of the weather. Today will be brutal, and might cost him a few shots whilst someone elsewhere in the draw might just pick up a few.

Career Grand Slam yes I think he could but not the majors grand slam this year, St Andrews has too unpredictable weather forecast this year. This years winner really could be anyone, Danny Willet a cracking outside bet before and now looking really good

He's a great player and is sure to be about and winning / featuring in many majors for many years to come, and as others have said, he hangs in there so can't be discounted this week. I have a feeling he just might do it.

But oddly for me I just can't warm to the guy. I don't know what it is an that is probably really unfair but I just can't. Why is that?

Heard quite a few people say that; he needs a charisma transplant, he's boring etc,

I think he just seems not all the comfortable in the media environment- just wants to play golf.

I think a lot of the players seem to like him so IMO there's probably more to him than comes across in interviews and in the media

Of course he can do it, he's super confident and he knows how to win. It's unlikely because of what it is but I wouldn't bet against it the way he's playing at the moment.

He's gotta be hitting it closer than he is at the moment,
. 37 putts in round 2...although the fact he is still only 5 back is testament to how good he is. Maybe the larger greens and undulations of the old course are showing the left below right weakness in putting...distance control. Few media guys on Twitter were saying the same thing last night.

Will he do it though? No...not for me.
