Well, I got a speeding ticket through the post today.....

Doing 46 in a 40 on the A61 in North Yorkshire........

While I was teaching in Aylesbury......

More hassle I don't need............

That's happened to me before never did get to find out what had happened but they checked my story out and I got a letter about 7-10 days later saying they would not be pursuing it and that there would not be any points etc.

Happened to a lad I used to work with, his plate was cloned and the cloned car was in an accident severa hundred miles away from whre he was. Police arrived at his door, but after he had said where he was and showed them his car with no accident damage, there was no further action.

Also happened to me in my corsa ten year ago doing 90 on motorway while I was 60 mile away on a building site sent them photos of my car was the same colour but with no tinted windows and twin exhaust never heard anything back

Happened to me a few years back, well, mine front one was actually stolen. I thought it had just fallen until I got to work and it had happened to about 5 other people. Reported it to the police who said they were aware it was going on. Over the next couple of years I got stopped 4 times by the police checking that it was actually me and not the thief, including once as I pulled off the M40 at Banbury! Apparently the cameras has flagged my number plate as reported stolen when I left London. Luckily, the cameras don't do speed as well :D

I did get accused of speeding somewhere in Wales once but it was sorted pretty easily - I was on holiday

Well the Good Old North Yorkshire Constabulary have seen sense and have recinded the Notice of Prosecution so Imurg is off the hook!
Apparently there were "material differences" between my car and the one in the picture - had to provide copy of diary, pictures of the car, names and numbers of the kids I was teaching etc etc etc...
At least they admit they're now looking for a cloned number plate.
