Solo Golf

Weighing up whether I want to do 9 holes after work this week, and wanted to see what everyone's thought were on a solo round?

Do you often go around alone? I've always been a team sports man, and i like to play golf with others, but my friends don't quite have the same commitment as me to improve.....

Thinking of maybe going round 9-holer this week alone, but wanted to see what everyone's general consensus was.

I think solo rounds of 9 holes are a critical 'bridge' between range practice and playing a real round. No need to do 18 holes; 9 is just the ticket.

Have to agree. Whilst I ended up playing with a friend. I found last night's 9 holes such a useful excercise. I am not a member of a club, so decided to go a local 9 hole course with 4 par 4s and 5 par 3s.

I found it far more constructive than the range if I am being honest. But the course is relatively short, so range still has it's purpose for Woods and Driver.

Prefer to play social golf but enjoy playing solo on the odd evening. First few times it was not very positive. Ended up hitting loads of balls and losing quite a few when I forgot where they had gone. I now play matchplay against myself with 2 balls - IE I get two different makes of balls and play titleist v callway etc etc.
