Solid Edge

Does anyone recommend or know of a good on-line course / tutorials for this program. I did a module or two at uni but would really like to expand my knowledge in this area. It was a couple of years since i did this now so i would have to start with the basics again to get myself up to speed.


any help with this would be greatly appreciated. cheers

Is it not obsolete?

Solid edge and ideas are both owned by Siemens. They also own nx. As far as I know, development on solid edge and ideas is frozen pretty much, and all the development is put into nx. I use nx, but used to use ideas. I have also used solid edge, back in the day.

pity lynda dont have solid edge courses. looks a good site.



there is plenty of design jobs going here in ireland at the minute and they are all asking for solid edge. you are probably right that big companies will head down the nx route but as ususal people around here will be the last to move over to it.
