Soft greens are back?

I don't here anyone mentioning the fact that the wet courses are longer to play, as your drives are 20/30 yards shorter and because you have to carry the ball to the hole yet another club longer. This means for some that some holes are 4 clubs longer.

Me thinks I know who prefer firmer fairways and greens.

Don't think that would be a problem for most of the 300 yard bombers on this Forum Shark would you . Firm greens for me seeing the ball check at the hole after a nipped pitch, cant beat it.

Smiffy the Spinner :D :D :D the only thing your spinning mate is a yarn :D

No problem with hard or soft greens. I can miss both just as easily. To be honest Winter golf or in wetter conditions is a different animal anyway. What you gain from holding greens you lose by having to hit longer clubs in. Add in heavy sand in bunkers and wet clinging rough and it is still a challenge. Putting is no cinch either especially from distance on a wet green. The way I see it soft greens are about the only advantage we'll get
