Society Golf

I know someone who is in a society and if they win a comp even if its with a score of lets say 34 points they get cut 2 shots :eek: :rofl:

I tend to ignore society HCP's now :whistle:
 
yep lots of societies and indeed roll ups run their own handicap "system" and it allows the winning to be spread about it
 
I belong to the Veterans Society within my club.
For £9 we compete at a range of surrounding courses and enjoy (mostly!)a two course meal afterward.
At home you buy your opponents a drink of their choice and a glass of wine with the meal.
Away they pick up the tab.
Its jacket and tie and incredibly sociable on and off the course.
Plus - you get to hear two speeches and old golf jokes told badly. :p
