So the world #1 who has made zillions out of his MP62's has announced he's gaming MP59's next year. By all accounts he's also getting excellent stats with the MP650 so the white headed driver that's made him #1 in driving accuracy might also go.

In theory its the player not the sticks but there have been quite a few high profile players who have changed sticks and suffered. I can't see this happening with LD though.

Its a good scoop for Mizuno though just hanging onto Donald, I had heard they were worried he'd move on for a much bigger cheque than they offer.

I think that's mostly when they change brands. He's still playing Mizuno's so I doubt there will be much change for him.

And having hit the 59's I can't say I blame him!

yes that's a valid point and I've hit the 59's and 69's, the 59's are bigger and have a funny artificial sound, now 'Master Luke' is playing them I'm tempted but I'll probably go for the 69's as they are gorgeous.

Only concern then is him changing from a TM driver to Mizuno MP650

To be fair, he's been hit and miss with the R11, so the change to the 650 might be just what the doctor ordered.

I'm considering changing from my R11 to the JPX driver following Greg's glowing review, but I shall reserve judgement until I've taken it for a test drive.

Is there a chance that Mizuno have thought that the world no1 using irons that are several years old is not exactly a glowing endorsement of their latest ranges. Maybe they've put together a set of 59's that play more like the 62's that he's used to.

i think you could send luke out with a set of donnays and he would still shoot level par the bloke is pure class and comes across as a nice person aswell

Definitely a coup for Mizuno having the World Number 1 on their books, with the recent high profile headlines about topping both the PGA and EPGA tour money lists I would imagine they would do just about anything needed to keep hold of him.

You simply cannot buy a better advert for your product than his accuracy.

I’m very surprised he’s number 1 in driving accuracy, I’ve seen him play a few times on tv this year and he looked like he missed more fairways than he hit, hell he even missed a few at Castle Stuart and that’s saying something.

Not sure why he would change the 62’s though, but last year he had a good 2 months off so I suppose he could spend that time getting used to the 59’s.

I’ll be keeping my 62’s though :)
