So how did you do this weekend?

So had a medal today. Started ok ....for the first 2 holes then lost 2 balls off the tee at the 3rd. NR. Only scored 14 points on the front 9. Finished with 28 points. I also 3 putted 2 greens but did reach them in regulation.

Positives.
1. I used to slice every drive, now only about 40% of them
2. On the 14 holes I scored on I was 12 over. Happy with that off 16
3. Playing 3 games next week.

Had an absolute hack. Went out late this afternoon but lost a ball on the 1st and 2nd and my whole swing was too fast, too long, out of synch and too many moving parts. Putting was rotten especially from 3 foot in. Only redeeming feature was my chipping and pitching and making a birdie at 9 (2nd shot from 204 with a 5 wood to 6 foot and holed a good putt). Played two balls on the back nine. Big mistake. Kept the first ball in play all the time but kept losing the 2nd shots. Got through 6 balls including losing two on 18.

Solid enough going out, 4 over par, but left a few shots out there coming back in 8 over par for a 83, net 68.

Shot exactly the same on wednesday past but in a totally different way. Putter was hotter on wednesday and parred all the par 3's, today three 4's and a 6.

Not sure how I was placed as I was out first and disappeared to the football, it was good enough for a .3 cut on wednesday.

I played for the B team today and we won our match 6 and 5 which is a great result.

Considering my first tee shot went 300yds up and 100yds forward and right, I was pleased to be putting for par with a decent chance on the first. Partner won that one and the second, I won the third, partner won 6th and 7th, I won the 11th then had the match winning putt on the 13th, though my partner could have done it too.

We played a good game and apart from one hole I was always doing enough to halve the holes, as was my partner.

Played the last 5 as friendly and I finished with 3 sweet pars, shooting somewhere around 82 overall.

I love match play.

The most frustrating days golf since I started playing again.
Stableford comp and 3 putted first 2 greens , one from 8 feet. Blobbed the 4th when i'd tonked it miles down the middle (par 5 too). 5 straight pars before another blob from middle of fairway !! Birdied 13 then 3 putted twice in succesion on stroke holes...aaarrggh. then blobbed 17 from having driven to 95 yds to pin in middle of fairway....aargh

Then eagled the par 5 last after knocking to 6 ft with 3-wood 2nd

34 pts with 3 blobs(all from fairway) and 4 x 3-putts....flippin game is doin' me head in

Double bogey on 1 and 7 with a triple on 6 leading to 15 pts on the front nine. Managed to recover with 22 points on the back for a respectable 37 pts overall.

Driving, which was poor for the past few weeks was good with only one really bad drive.

More golf tomorrow and then a four ball comp on Monday.
