So how did you do this weekend?

Mono, if you are hitting that consistantly on a normal golf course, you need to be popping off to see a pro with the view to taking yourself into a different league and forgetting about your 18 h/c. Looking at some of your posts you never seem to have a bad round that goes anywhere near 18h/c standard so I am giving benefit of any doubt and telling you that you should be doing something more with your golf at your age rather than just banging the hell out of Bootle. :D ;)
 
Spring meeting today, 36 hole medal.

Had a horrid front 9, trying to steer it around, so 8 over on front nine. Solid back nine, 4 over for a buffer zone 12 over. About 3 off the pace.

PM, started on the back nine with a solid 3 over, after a treble on the first (tenth). Ticking along nicely, just one more dropped shot up to 13 holes in, then total melt down, treble double double, finished with two pars for a buffer zone 11 over.

Came ninth, still off 11.4, total waste of time. Winner was 4 shots better than me.

If, buts, and maybes.
 
Played a medal today and had a fairly scrappy round. Scrambled and putted well and kept things going until 16th where I lost a ball off the tee. Promptly followed that with a shanked tee shot at 17th resulting in another lost ball and that was it... missed buffer by 2 strokes.

Well..... there's always next week ! :rolleyes:

Why do you come on here and blatantly lie. I find it impossible to believe you shot level par gross off 18. You said on the best round ever thread that you had 50 odd points but we have never seen you in any of the freebie magazines that cover local areas of any of the national freebie publications. Those sorts of scores would have the press banging your door down.

If you can't be honest an open with us is this really the place to be?

Call me a cynic but it smacks of exaggeration
 
The beauty of golf is its all based on honesty. I remember speaking with an old American boss of mine who said the reason lots of business deals are done on a golf course is because if someone is dishonest on a golf course than business with that person should be treated very carefully.

Im still waiting to see if Mono shot gross par or net par.
 
Playing in a Qualifying match for my division today, been off work all week with a tract infection so who knows what will happen, played last weekend with the cold that started it and lost about 30 yards on my drives.

Got to go out and enjoy it though wearing my new disco clothes ;)

Mono, not being funny but net 52 on 18 hcp??? My comp sec would be beating me with his fountain pen if I scored that off 18!!
 
Are we allowed to swear. Ok then I wont but you get how my game was on Saturday. I missed 5 short putts so that set me up for million's. I was hitting the ball well enough, a few pulled 2nd shots but was able to chip stone dead. Let me tell you, the way my putting is they need to be stone dead.

Anyway a match today (Sunday) looking forward to that. I dont know if to have a few pints before the game or a few putt's. Tuff choice!!!

1st nine i was atrocious, lst 3 balls and topped a few too many, second 9 was much better and even managed to drove the green on 18.
Looking to play again tomorrow.
 
Pretty average. No comp today. Shot a 95.

Driving was truly awful, timing was all off. Hardly hit any fairways.

Irons were pretty solid and my chipping was pretty good after my short game lesson on Friday.

Putting was OK but nothing special.

Best memory from the weekend. Stringing 4 pars together. That was pleasing.

Homer this was not in a compitition or qualifier this was social golf with friends so that is why it would not be in a local paper and the 71 I told you about was in a round of our mini winter league and I was in our clubs newsletter. Also I dont play in too many away comps but will be this year and see if I can get in a magazine or local paper because that would be cool.

So DONT CALL ME A LIER.

Your acting so childish if I wanted I could come on every day and say I shot one under but I dont like today I shot an 82 in the medal and won the comp. -6 nett. so there you go I am no lier.
 
My point being that any local news hack worth his salt or any golf club secretary would be singing this from the rooftops. I'm still not convinced. At the end of the day if you did well done and if you are egging the truth then its only a matter for you and your conscience.

Stableford. 38 points off yellows. Par 70 SSS 68, hoping NOT to get cut.....pwlease.......I can't manage 80 off whites.....:D

Highlight of the round.....recreated this afternoon with camera and miniRG in tow.

Par 3, 180, uphill a lot, can't get on with 3h.

I try to "float" a 5 wood on the green (tee it up a bit and swing easy). Last two/three rounds been inches away from the OOB. (Yes :( I know, it's too much club, but it's seriously uphill).

Today, peached it right out of the middle and heart in mouth for the 3rd stableford running.... :rolleyes:

A poor performance today after a decent knock yesterday. Started with three double bogeys coupled with 3 blobs, a few pars and a birdie--a real curates egg--27 pints 10 less than yesterday.

Roll on tomorrows 4ball competition.

No wonder i played badly----should have read 27 points.

I won't drink 27 pints in a month.
 
I had a really good weekend. Shot 88 gross off 24 hcap. Unfortunately as it was a bigish comp at our club the maximum shot allowance was 18. If I'd have had 24 shots it would more than likely have been a winning score. I have no idea what the css or winning score was as we went out fairly early. Looking forward to taking some shots of my hcp though!
