Driving a taxi around all day you would be surprised at how many people stink of B O , it's like they haven't washed for weeks ,and the stink stays in the cab well after they have gone.
I feel like giving them a blast of my deodarent

Commuter trains and the underground at rush hour. Some people need to sort themselves out. Guy with his partner and kid on a relatively empty train yesterday and their BO and fag smell wafted the length of the carriage to the point where some schoolkids got a whiff and made a comment and it permeated to the rest of us. Foul

There is a low cost freezer shop in the town where I work. One of the women on the checkout is a real character and when a smelly person goes through her checkout she gets out her spray and gives everywhere a good blast before she processes anyone else. She gives a smile, a little wink and then gets on :D.

One that disturbs me is a bloke in a nearby Aldi who absolutely hums. You know which aisle he is in before you reach him. The guy is in his early 30's, very presentable but reeks. How can he take care of his appearance but not use deoderant? How can his co workers, his boss or a regional boss not take him to one side and have a word? Awful and totally unnecessary.

I have a very keen sense of smell and at times if in a shop and there's a stinker I've left - makes me want to puke!

I have been doing some volunteer work at the Wood Green Charity shop and oh my word the things people "donate"...grim...I'm taking gloves this week as felt quite icky after last week!

It is a breeding ground for stinky people. ?

It's not nice, but as you never know the life circumstances of a person I dont make any bones about it.
The World will keep turning, and I am still alive.
Yes the world keeps on turning and smelly people are always smelly people ,doesn't make it pleasant for the non smelly though.
Halitosis is another bug bear ffs five minutes in the bathroom in the morning isn't going to stop the world turning ,and it would be a lot less smelly

Having known someone with halitosis which there was nothing he could do as it was a severe medical condition, I repeat we don't always know their life circumstances.
Perhaps we should complain about those who do smelly craps all the time, or who fart a death gas.
It's life, lets respect that:)

For the record, the guy who had the severe halitosis drunk himself into oblivion and an early grave because he knew what everyone was thinking and saying.

As someone who commutes to work, it amazes me when someone smells first thing in the morning. Surely that should be the least likely time? You could understand it on the train home if they've had a hard day, but in the morning surely all you've done is wash, put deodorant on and gone to the train station? Mind boggles.

Some people have a condition that makes them smell bad others just don't wash enough.

Just read the last two answers, and in essence, someone that is stinky ( in my book ) does not have Hallitosis, he does not have a condition. They do not wash for days, weeks on end. They do not change there clothes for days, weeks on end. That for me is what a stinky person is. And before anyone gets on there high horse. I have worked down a pit and seen some of the dirtiest, stinkiest people you can ever meet. But they had a wash

Leave your washing in the washing machine too long and it stinks, some washing detergents are unpleasant as well .. I hate it when that happens clean clothes stink of rancid washing detergent. Cigerette/ or tobacco is okay but can be a bit over powering sometimes. Farting in public, even if it's a silent one .. still not acceptable behaviour, save it for the toilet, a quiet lonely place or your own home.
Some deodorants don't work, or stop working, some people are in such a rush they genuinely forget .. it's just no one has mentioned it too them because that is deemed poor manners. I don't advocate a " you smell !"policy but if it's someone you know well and can speak on the level with perhaps a bit of banter about the Lynx having a repelling affect ... dunno but I would not mind someone telling me as I would be mortified if you all thought I was a stinker (well some of you)
By the way we all smell each other differently .. what may be offencive to you may be completely acceptable to someone else .. and don't think you will notice it because it's a very subconscious thing. Like beauty it's in the eye of the beholder ... So someone loves a stinker!

People who have bad hygiene are disgusting; but a mate has a medical condition and his medication causes him chronic and acrid flatulence. One deserves sympathy, the other disgust but how do you tell the difference?

Sometimes a bit of understanding is necessary just in case.
