Assuming no change to existing handicap system, I imagine that your handicap will vary when you play at other courses according to the course's slope rating, e.g. Region3 might have been playing off 10 at Hollinwell today.

there is little difference between the US and CONGU ratings for Scratch players - it's the use of the Bogey index and it's funcion in the overall system, that makes any difference; both to the estabnlishment of the player's handicap index and the practical application of that index with the course and tees being played.
basically, dealing with ratings alone, a cat 1 CONGU golfer wouldn't see any difference at all whilst a 20 handicapper would prbably see differences in long courses with distance realted hazards or shorted courses without distance realted hazards.
even then, it needs the application of a system to see a difference.

I play with a number of guys who use a hybrid system.
Gimees ok from a couple of feet but all other Rules of Golf adhered to. Every round counts for 'handicap' against SSS at any of a number of courses. The resultant handicaps are pretty accurate against my 'normal' one for guys at my level, but the guy off about 20 suffers a bit.
Having seen both systems in action, I believe using the slope system for 'playing handicap' at individual courses would actually be an improvement - as it equalises different courses better for groups with quite different handicap levels - we often have a couple of lowish guys (single figure) and a couple of medium-high guys (around 20). As the courses tend to be above average difficulty, the high guys are at quite a disadvantage - even if they are within buffer in the Congu system. Slope would stretch their handicap at these courses more than the low guys and even it up better than as current.

If each course will be assessed for a slope rating, is there then a table or something telling you what to multiply your handicap by to get to the shots you receive on that course?
Have I understood that right?

I would imagine courses will have a conversion table for their own track once introduced, you could also use this:

I assume it will be the same as the EGA system - you use your exact handicap and consult a big board by the first tee.
