I’ve took the plunge and booked into Slaley for next weeken. Weather looking warmer and drier too so should be fun!

Yep. I’ve been a few times and they take your eyes out in the bar. I first went about 15 years ago and it was about £14 for a fish finger sandwich even back then if I recall.

It’s recovering well but it’s behind Ramside where I normally play. Fairways are perfectly fine but a bit long and there’s just no run If you’re off the fairway the rough is a bit long. Green weren’t great at all but bearing in mind everywhere is behind in there course preparation I has to be accepted for a parkland course up here right now.

All that in mind, it’s playing quite tough and I say this as someone who’s played there a bit and is normally ok with the courses there. I do alway find 16 and 18 on hunting a real chore as they are just uphill slogs. Combine that with soft fairways and it just feels worse.

As another indicator we had a 1HI playing with us on priestman yesterday. The bonkers handicapping had him playing off +1 and he came in with 27 points.

Any update on how the courses are playing now we're well into summer?

Any recommendations as there looks to be two courses in offer.
