Is there any alternative for watching golf on TV, I would happily take sky out if I could still watch the golf...fed up watching overrated premiership rubbish....

i hear the sports arnt great on them boxes, but otherwise live TV is good. Especially the films

My box had a big update last week and sports quality has been really good since, still buffers a lot with live sports but my download speed to the box via wi-fi isn't great. I think a lot have upped their game recently to get a decent quality picture rather than that snowy rubbish you get sometimes.

I had one of those android boxes, watched the golf on it about twice as it was crap IMO, mines was on an Ethernet feed and not wifi, 50 meg fibre optic. The picture was pretty poor and buffered all the time. A lot of the time it took ages to actually find golf on it, kept getting to " no stream" message

they sound quite good, where did you get them from if you don't mind me asking?

I have an android box, loads and loads of alternative feeds, for golf I like using the Golf Channel feed, or the viasat one both give very very good pic quality and no buffering. Clipping out the adverts is a bit annoying as they just display a static screen during that time but apart from that it's good.

Its illegal if you are getting golf coverage without paying a subscription from what i understand

FROM the kodi webpage;

[h=3]Is This Legal?[/h]Short answer, yes. All the content is streaming on the internet right now. Kodi and its add-ons make it easy to find all your programs, including live streaming of TV. There is no downloading and no file sharing on your part. That’s the major legal issue with downloading and peer-to-peer torrent file sharing: you share the files you download with others over the internet, which is technically illegal. This doesn’t happen with Kodi.

If you stream a feed from Skysports without paying subscription then it's illegal regardless of downloading or not - hence why sites like Justin TV - wizwig etc have been closed down and other sites that just allow you to stream are being closed down

Right now ofcom are looking into further streams in this country from places like golf channel in the U.S. after complaints from Sky

If you have Freesat then you can watch extended highlights of the PGA tour every saturday and sunday on CNBC. 2 x 2hour programs.

Probably because sky are just the middle men, who get the feed from the host then charge viewers to watch.
I watched the masters live online, direct from the host broadcaster ...free :thup:
