anyone suffer? i was at physio on weds and i have a strained ligament that attaches coller bone to clavicle ac i think, was told to go easy, anyone else suffer?
cheers

big time suffer with my right shoulder. Smashed it to pieces last September. Dislocated it, snapped the collar bone away from the AC joint. Along with other damage that I caused to all the tendons and muscles in the shoulder. I think it is the best thing that happened to me regarding golf. Had to do a swing re-build and change a couple of things to accommodate my shoulder.

I did not swing a club for 6 months. My advice would be to listen to your physio and do not rush into playing. After all it is winter so it will be a good excuse not to go out playing on those cold will terms days.

thanks bud, going to take it easy, we are into winter league from next sat, 9 hole sweep just, so a few weeks off, maybe more will do me fine hopefully :)

Operation on right shoulder in 2010 due to rotator cuff problems & a small splinter of bone from my shoulder blade had to be removed due to a skiing accident.
I'm now having issues with my left shoulder, again it's a rotator cuff problem, and get my MRI scan results in a couple of weeks.
The worst pain is when I'm sleeping, or trying to, but it's not so bad during the day. Putting a shirt on is a nightmare but playing golf is not too bad!
Plenty of rest, plenty of physio and all should be right in time for more clement weather.
Good luck & keep us posted,

Slime.

I have rotator cuff problems from an old gym injury, tendon gets inflamed and it affects my swing big time.

If surgery isnt required, then rest and anti-inflams (only over short periods like a few weeks) normally helps. When you haven't felt pain for a week or 2 then can you only start thinking about using it properly again

thanks folks, i have been given some exercises to follow, to build up the muscles around shoulder so hopefully a bit if work and it get back to normal. thanks

I finally went to see a physio last week because of mine. Rotator cuff tendonitis, but not a very bad case luckily.
It only affects my golf by being a little stiff for the first few holes but swinging doesn't cause pain.

The pain is when I try to do anything with my arm behind me. As someone else said, putting on a shirt (or jacket) is awful. I also haven't been able to play pool properly for a couple of months because I can't stretch my arm out above my head with any weight on it.

Ibuprofen, exercises and a couple more visits for ultrasound and he reckons it'll be sorted in maybe 5-6 weeks.

had my second us today r3, tucking a tee shirt in is painful too, nightmare, have to go next weds, luckily i get my physio through work so hopefully she can set me right, the exercises i have to build me shoulders are helping, long way to go.
