Well my Greenjoys have eventually split, and I'm looking for a better pair of leather shoes.

Has anyone got any suggestions, or what to steer away from. Reelfits are a possibility as they've come down in price, so if anyone's got any experiance with these that would be useful.

On another note, I've not been able to get onto the forum, as the page has not been uploading, despite the bottom left corner saying done. :(

Thanks

Hiya Hapless - thought you'd left home! I have the same trouble with the forum at times - Click the refresh button and it loads on mine. Worth a try.

Shoes? Footjoy. AQL's are good and reasonably cheap. Anything else by Footjoy is going to be good.

same here, select Index or Continue, blank screen, Refresh eventually sorts it. The Read/Unread post indicators are also not working properly, one minute it's read, the next not. confusing to bear's brain.

as to shoes, got to be leather and Footjoy; mine are Softjoy's -lovely

What is your budget? You can't go wrong with the reelfits or the pods by footjoy, around the £80 region now. However around the greenjoy budget the stuburt hidro pro is an excellent winter shoe.

And I to have been having the troubles described above having had a period of normal service for a short while previously. What was fixed is obviously broken again.

I'd recommend Adidas Tour 360 2 not the 3.0, or the tour 360 ltd. Im a bit of a shoe addict and both the tour 360 2 and ltd's are really, really comfy! Especially the ltd's! But it does depend on how much you are willing to spend? The Adidas Powerbands are good aswell and I think on golfonline.co.uk you can get them for under £50?

I've just bought a superb new pair of AQL's from Willingdon Golf Club for £44.95.
Dave, the Pro over there, advertises on e-bay specialising in cut price shoes.
He had loads of pairs over there when I went at lunchtime to collect my new clubs.
He's a really decent bloke and will do you a deal
Rob

Willingdons website is here, click on pro shop and special offers and it will give you a link to his shoes section.
He has loads of other stuff on there as well, but as I say...specialises in shoes!

I have had terrible trouble with Adidas shoes coming up at least 1/2 size too small in the past, being difficult to break in and splitting very easily. As a result I am 100% a footjoy man. I have a number of the Dryjoy PODS which were around £99RRP when they came out in the Spring but I am sure they are cheaper online now.

Every pair of these (including a couple of customised designs) have all been worn for a full round straight from the box. None have ever rubbed of given me any trouble and are a joy to wear. I have a friend who rates the Reelfit model so they should be worth looking at and will be quite cheap now. I know Footjoy are launching a new shoe in January (around the £100 mark) so you might want to look at those if you have the budget and can wait.

Hiya Hapless - thought you'd left home!

Nope, just had real problems getting onto the site, even refreshing etc wasn't working :(

I've also been busy putting this house on the market and looking for another one; growing family an'all.

Had to endure hours of damn soaps without the distraction and relief that the forum provides!

I think the shoes are required sooner as I've noticed that they've both split. Two years plus from the plastic Greenjoys, can't complain as they go through all weathers, and all year round.

Some of you appear to have summer shoes and winter shoes, why is that? Is it like the old walking boot syndrome of having a stout leather pair for winter and a lighter fabric pair for summer? Either way AG will get my business tonight, as they're open 'till nine and NB shut at six!!

Most of my shoes tend to be the FJ Dryjoy PODS but I do have a couple of pairs (mainly white or white/colour) that I tend to keep for drier conditions. I prefer plain black in the winter as they tend not to show the mud so badly and are easy to clean (dry properly, clean with black polish and then dub)

I won't buy anything but FJ now.
Have tried various makes in the past, Stylo, Cotswold, Adidas.
The Adidas ones (Berhard Langer I think) I stupidly wore "straight from the box" over 36 holes one hot Summers day. I had blisters within about 5 or 6 holes and had to carry on playing in them for the rest of the day..I was in agony and ended up giving them away a few weeks later.
Recently lost my favourite pair of FJ "Drydogs" which I'd had for about 6 years and they still polished up like new.
On peoples recommendations I purchased a pair of AQL's in plain black for winter use, wore them straight out of the box and they were superbly comfortable.
Bought another pair today (Christmas present from the Missus) AQL's again but this time white, and a bit more like a "trainer" for Summer use.

May not be everybodies cup of tea, but I think they look great and once again, they fit like a glove.

I recently went looking for footjoy but cant resist a bargain, 25 quid for a pair of slazenger with a years guarantee (two pair for £46) and they are a fine pair to play in, footjoy will have to wait till end of next year maybe. ;)

Thanks for the info guys.

The Contours seem to suit my feet, but has anyone got any size 9 mediums, in white / black; nope.

I would like to try a pair of Reelfits before commiting though. Again no-one has any of these to try on.

Only colour available would appear to be solid back; not my preferred colour.

The hunt continues.
