My trusty Greenjoys are cracking up on me (its the way I tell em)

and so one is needing to replace, But What With???

Im taken with both the FJ AQL or Contour designs, ie white toes and heel with brown or black around the laces area

Does one stand out more than the other or should I be looking at something else

Both seem to be around the £60-£70 mark

Comments please

Contours are far more comfortable but some people I speak to complain about what feels like a 'lump' on the instep, which doesn't appeal to people with wider feet.

But, provided they fit well, best out of the two is the Contour

Phil, I have had my second pair of contours for about a year and have worn them for an average of 3 rounds per week for the last year. They still feel like slippers when I put them on. Well worth the money I spent on them.

Best thing to do is go try them on in somewhere like AG and hit a few balls with them on if you can.

What about the BOA lace system?

Any good?

Works a treat. Except when you have got some silly sod who keeps coming up behind you at Woodhall Spa pulling the button out while you are standing talking to people...   :D

I bought a black pair of Contours with the Boa lace system earlier this year and love them. I wish I hadn't just purchased a new white pair of AQL's a week or two prior to this as I would have got the white Boa laced Contours as well, I think they are a really good looking pair of shoes but I just can't justify buying yet another pair.
As I say, I think these look great (even better in the flesh) and are available for around your budget. Nice and comfy and the lace system is guaranteed for the life of the shoe.

So you just twist the knob (Excuse the obvious pun) and it tightens the shoe.

Does it loosen up after a while and need re tightening?

Thanks guys

The Contour is a really comfortable shoe. The BOA doesn't noticeably loosen in my experience.

The only thing you find with them is that, when you put them on, it is very tempting to do them up too tightly which becomes uncomfortable. But they are a dream to adjust.

Just an observation. They are great shoes.

They won't loosen up but the tendency is not to over tighten them in the first place so you might find yourself giving them a couple of extra clicks on the way round anyway.
Seriously good shoes...just don't wear them when Bobmac is around....

The beauty is, they're a doddle to slip off when you are knackered after a round, they come off like a comfy pair of slippers.

Some people are so childish

Nope. Just turn your knob until there's a snug fit and Bob's your uncle.
The reason I like the lace system is that it not only fits around the top of the foot, it grips around the back too.
