shoes and orthotics

Hi all
I am looking for a new pair of golf shoes as my current ones have just sprung a leak and have cracked across the top (I have had them for only 7months).
I currently have a pair of Woodworm shoes which I can wear my orthotics in and they are really comfy. I bought these from our pro and he is sending them back in the hope of replacement (our pro no longer deals with Woodworm) otherwise he has said he will replace from the shop, but the styles he stocks are limited to say the least.
Hence I am looking for another pair as back up, I have a pair of Nikes but can't wear my orthotics in them

Does anyone have any shoe recommendations with particular reference to being able to insert orthotics?

I wear orthotics in my Footjoys. The inner sole can be removed easily & i put my insole in it's place. You may be able to fit both in dependong how much room you have.

Hello. Does anyone know whether orthotics make you slip in your shoes when swinging the golf club or not?

I've worn my orthotic insoles in Footjoy, Puma, Adidas, Nike and now Ashworth shoes. You do need to check sizing as I needed to go up half a size in both Puma and Ashworth shoes.

I've never had any issue with them not fitting properly. Just take out the original foot bed and put in your Orthotic insole. Bob's yer uncle!

Speaking of orthotic insoles insoles, how do you decide when you need them ? Have you been to the docs and been advised ? personal judgement, if so how do you know whats the right ones for you ?

Without sounding like a wuman my feet ache like <insert bad word> especially after a round and I feel I need something as I need to do something about it, however where do I start ?

I have them due to arthritis. Your doctor will refer you for a fitting. The advances in the orthotics over the last 5 years has been quite incredible.

you really need to push your doctor to get you a referral. after 5 years and a slight addiction to painkillers (and a messed up internals) i finally got a referral. sussed out in 5 mins i had flat feet. next appointment my feet were plastercast 4 weeks later made to measure insoles. 3 days later pain free!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ahh miss them painkillers i don't miss sore feet

Flat feet is a slightly different situation to degeneration of the cartilage. Bone grinding on bone is painful and causes swelling.

that may be so but I replied to the OP as I wear shoes and have custom made insoles that stop the pain and my ankle clicking. i will demonstrate said clicking this weekend.

to the OP i take my inserts with me when buying new shoes. i also just put them on top of the original inserts of the shoes
