Was out playing this morning but when I got back i had a beautiful new shiney Ping I15 dirver waiting for me. All courtesy of those fine fellas at Ping.

Took it out of its wrapper and cant wait to get out and christen it.

Took the trip up to Ping at Gainsborough on Monday and James the tour truck chappie fitted me out for a new driver. Did all the stuff on the Trackman and tried a few different head/shaft combos. This club gave the best results and here it is 2 days later. Marvelous service all round.

Funny thing was that I hit the ball a little further than I originally thought and averaged 250 carry and 263 total. Smash factor was spot on at 1.51 too. Really good to see all the stats to either confirm or deny what you think youre doing.

Many thanks to Ping for their excellent service and thanks also to GM for picking me to play WH.

I'm a happy chappie for sure :D

Excellent! How long were you there for altogether? Did you tour the factory too?

Didnt stay too long , the fitting took about 45 mins. Then had a quick bite of lunch provided courtesy of Ping. Decided not to do the factory tour , thought poor James would be fed up showing people round all the time.

The bays were nice and heated though so I was toastie warm :D

Hey Jammy, I got my date through today from Ping, wish I could find my dam diary to confirm I'm off that day.

Anyway, spill the beans about your loft, and shaft combination to go with this new beast of yours.

Haha Craw i'm ashamed to admit that i'm Mr average again when it comes to clubs. My irons turned out to be standard everything and now the driver has the stock Ping stiff shaft too :(
9.5 loft with their tfc stiff shaft (saga grey too) so nothing exciting. I did try all the fancy shafts but this one just got the job done better.

Got a scratch league match Friday night at a club I havnt played before so it'll get an airing under pressure conditions....gulp...then a 36 hole medal at Sheringham (havnt played there either) on Saturday...and a medal at my club on Sunday , a baptism of fire so if it comes through this weekend unscathed then i'm moving to the next level ;)

Thinking of ditching my 3 wood and 17 hybrid and getting a g15 4 wood to replace them now.

Are you seeing a fitter up your way or traveling down to Gainsborough ?

I've still got to sort out a time and date to get to Ping, but it's proving very difficult to find the time. Quite a trek for me from down in Sussex.
I'm tempted just to say "give me a 12 degree with a regular TFC shaft" 'cos I would like something that hits it a bit higher than my current G10 with the Prolaunch red in it.
I wonder if an email to Ping would suffice????

I'm just hooking up with the Scottish rep at a demo day and he's going to do the fitting. I would have liked to do the whole Ping thing but it's a trek and expensive. Like Bob suggested to Smiffy, I too would have stopped at Woodhall Spa and played so that would have given the wife even more ammunition!

Glad you had a good fitting session and good luck this weekend in your golfing marathon! I have a couple of games arranged so fingers crossed my current decent good form continues.
