Been watching some old episodes on sky sports and got it on series link. Wonderful programme! Anyone know why they stopped making it?

Shell's profits fell to an all time low of 145, 679 billion dollars and decided they couldn't afford to give away a Rolex every game!

I would imagine in todays day and age the "sportsmen" like Tiger, Luke, Rory, etc have such busy schedules, sponsors to please and add in appearance money demands I'm sure that would be enough to kill it in the water before it even started!

The original film maker, Panavision, ceased to exist and no one else picked up the format.
I heard a rumour at work that Sky have looked at making a similar format in the coming year.

The only thing wrong with it was that old American duffer who did a lot of the voiceovers for the 'cultural' bits of the programme! My favourites were the two with Seve against Tom Kite (at Pedrana prior to the 97 Ryder Cup) and Paul Azinger (at St Andrews) - his long game had well and truly gone by then, but some of the shots he played with his short irons were incredible and had both Kite and Azinger amazed, and kept the scoreline semi-respectable. The St Andrews one was also good as a number of pro's (mostly Americans) were walking with the galleries and following the match. A young Mickelsen was one and you could tell he was thinking "my short game is good, but Seve's is on a totally diifferent level".
