From someone who could even set up close to the hosel and nail the sweet spot, I've developed J Arthur's from wedge, sw and sw in bunkers, and today 6 irons, must be the most destructive shot in the game. I think it stems from the takeaway but will watch the GM short game app tonight before I cry!

Don't worry. The course was shut this afternoon for a big shotgun event. Hit the practice ground and had just measured two distances (40 and 60 yards) with my GPS. A guy turned up to use the practice ground too and could see I was trying to work on the distance control for my wedges and promptly started to hit where I'd put the markers. He had the whole field to play with. Fortunately he only hit a small basket and I didn't bother while he was there but once he'd buggered off I got down to it. Shanktastic on the first 10 with my 58 to the 40 yard target. Fit to burst with anger. Had a drink and went back to it and got there in the end but it wasn't good and confidence shot to buggery now

From my experience it is often the result of a takeaway that is too far inside. Try keeping the clubhead tracking down the extended ball to target line as long as possible in the backswing.

That was my thoughts too socket, I think I must be laying the club off, letting the shaft fall in the backswing as well as too inside, then it all goes pete tong from there, a few Healy woods confirmed the feeling but I think a video is needed to see what's going on, man it's so depressing when they start.
Played with 2 county players today and after out driving them on the first few holes and hitting the first 5 GIR's I proceded to play like a 23 handicapper (no disrespect to high h/cappers), a few tops also happened, similar swing issue?

Nasty, Nasty, Nasty, same problem is lurking with me, been hitting ball really well, 1 j arthur and confidence completely fallen off the cliff face.

Horrible bloody things. Mine are caused by me leaning my weight onto my toes on the backswing. I can actually feel myself swaying slightly and I feel off balance when I do it.
Had a short 50 yard pitch into 18 tonight. Packed patio and water sharp right. Praying the J Arthurs wouldn't appear after my nightmare practise session yesterday. Hit it well enough to about 10 feet and lipped out for birdie
