shaft tip trimming

does cutting the tip of the shaft make the shaft stiffer if so how much needs to be trimmed to make a stiff shaft extra stiff? rgds Dave

Yes it does but it also changes the kick etc as you are messing with the wrong end. Dont do it, I has a srixon with the tip cut half an inch or so andwhile it did go relatively straight, it went nowhere near as far as the Mizuno I now have nor the Nike I had before it.

Why not order a pukka set of new Rifles/DG/Nippons in X-S and save the existing shafts? or is the plan to take some existing stiff shafts (unfitted) and make them stiffer.

I do actually have the answer somewhere on my computer.....
I got a guide from my pro after the disaster with my 7 iron.
