Shafts - Project x IO 6.0 vs nippon modus 105 Stiff

I’ve been playing for the last 5 years with G410 irons with nippon modus 105 stiff shafts. Just got my handicap down to single figure's so I’ve tried and loved the i230 irons with the same shaft. I’ve just seen the same irons but with project x IO 6.0 shafts in near new condition for half the price. What would be the fundamental difference between these two shafts?

I think the general consensus is that the Modus may feel a bit stiffer...but overall there's not much to choose between them.

Project X will be 5 grams heavier, but that's about it.

One of the major differences is that the Project X is an ascending weight shaft whereas the modus (assuming modus 3) is a constant weight shaft
Ascending weight shafts are supposed to give a different trajectory club to club.

I have used AMT shafts in the past (TT AST white) but currently use the modus but have noticed the extra height in the short clubs in comparison (not with the same heads).

Congrats on breaking into single figures, Jim!

Modus 105 is smooth and precise, while Project X IO 6.0 is firmer and more penetrating. Try them out and see which feel you prefer!

I just got fitted into modus 105 regular from KBS C Taper lite 110g stiff, and my swing is night and day more repeatable (poor but repeatable! ) with them.

Sounds really night n day haha. What clubs are u playing and what SS with say a 7i? Did you try the modus stiff, and if so what happend? Asking bc I played mizuno 919 hot metal with modus 105R. Than went with cobra forged tec with stock shafts $ taper lite stiff, and I don't like em at all, they have zero feel for me..So I have now ordered modus 105 in stiff. Cheers

How can I not reply to this?!
I have Mizuno Pro 243s, 1° flat, standard lofts and a swing speed with a 6 iron (I rarely practice with the 7 iron) of 82mph.
I had Mizuno MP20 HMBs beforehand and the stiff shaft was fitted to stop me slicing the ball and coming over to the top. My swing changed though, and the extra weight was eventually encouraging me to come over the top.
Did try the stiff, but found the regular easier to control for fades and draws with my swing, but I'm not suggesting I can fade and draw to order! But if you've got a faster SS, the stiff may well work for you.
