If a shaft already has, say, a Callaway iMix connector attached to it, can the connector be taken off and the shaft put into a normal driver head?
 
Yes, you can pull the shaft from the iMix connector, just like you can from a normal head.

In fact if you don't need the iMix connector, you can sell this separately, as they are quite rare, and Callaway do not sell them, so if someone wanted to use a shaft that Callaway do not sell on an iMix head, they would need to go this route.
 
Hmm... asked in a local pro shop today about it and he reckoned it's not possible. Reasons: shaft could break, and shaft will be shorter. Hmmm...
 
I would ask around, perhaps to a specialist clubfitter.

I know it can be done, because I have done it myself!
I even have a spare iMix adapter sitting around now.
