Is it me, or are this years new irons more sexy / better looking than recent offerings.

I am thinking specifically of the new Titleist offerings, as a few of theirs have looked a bit dodgy recently (695MBs excluded of course). But also I have seen some new Macgregors, they have new blades (very nice) and new forged cavity backs that knock spots off their last sets (their last few sets have been dogs as far as I am concerned). Even the new Cobra forged set look sweet.

At this rate I could be sorely tempted this year, in a way I haven't been for ages.

Pity Callys new blades are so ugly. Going to be entering a difficult market when everone else is going pretty.

Are you kidding me? the new Titleist irons fell out of the ugly tree and hit every branch! The lightning bolt going across them is so ugly and 80`s and the AP2 irons look more like they are from the 70`s!!!

Put some links up to these beauties!

In my eyes the Wilson Staff Pi7 irons are the best looking on the market!

I love the look of the new titleist irons. Those special limited Mizzys that are a fortune are sheer porn.

How strange it is how we lust over shiny new irons all the time, I am always browsing irons even though I have no intent in changing for atleast another year or so and perhaps beyond that.

Wilson? Who are you kidding! Fat, offset, game improving irons will never be sexy. You need a thin top edge, and a sweet spot the size of a pin head to make a good looking club.

We are talking stuff to hang on the wall and polish here, not stuff to actually play with.

I go limp when I look at blades ;)

I am in the market but there is such much choice its a nightmare there is the R7 Draw, Callaway BBs 08 & x20s, Cobra FPii's, Ping G5 & G10, Srixon i 601 and so many more its confusing.

Sorry, htl, but I think they're a wee bit on the ugly side, to be honest.

Always much preferred a pure lump of shiny steel without any fangly bits or coloured logos, like these. Each to their own, though.

It doesn't make you a bad person:D

No, sorry. I meant fangly bits with coloured logos like the ones you posted the link to.

I'm a Mizuno man myself. Love their blades but scared to use them.

The best Mizuno blades are a bit Di Stewart. I'm afraid I think those Wilson things are a bit Diana Dors.

Come on now, htl. You're being very naughty. I wasn't talking about when she was Britain's answer to Marilyn. I was talking about the "Prince Charming" video. :D

There's a great story about Diana Dors.

A little known fact is that her real name was actually Diana Fluck from Swindon.
The story goes that she went back to her home town to turn on the Christmas lights or something like that and the vicar introduced her over the tannoy with the immortal....

"Ladies and gentlemen, it is with great pleasure that I introduce to you our star guest. We all love her, especially as she is our local girl. I therefore feel it right to introduce her by her real name; Ladies and Gentlemen, please welcome the very lovely Miss Diana Clunt."

Talk about a Freudian slip!! :D

I have to confess to being a huge 'Wilson Staff' fan and think the new PI7's look absolutely fantastic.

Padraig seems quite keen on the PI7's too as he's stuck them straight in the bag.

But he hasn't said he will polish them, just play with them. That is completely different. He would play with any ugly old rubbish if he thought the performance would win him another major.
