Secure email suggestions

I use Thunderbird for my email.

My advice would simply be multiple email accounts

e.g. I have one address which is solely used for anything financial so there is no 'cross contamination'.

It has a very limited amount of contacts so it is relatively easy to trust any incomimg mail.
