Just along the coast from my office and lovely benign weather means the early starters have a perfect opportunity to score.

Olesen certainly making the most of it at -7 with just the 18th to go, and a whole gaggle of players on -3 or better at the moment.

I'm really enjoying watching it this morning. Possibly the first time I've watched a pro competition on a course that I play semi-regularly and therefore "know" to any extent so it's fun recognising the holes and remembering personal triumphs/disasters!

Haven't had the pleasure of playing there so far this year but have an entry in for a 36 hole scratch comp at the end of the month, really hoping to get a place as this is whetting the appetite!

That's a handsome card Olesen has signed for, his hand must be better! I've been watching him since Mauritus and not seen this coming...

yes, never play well there either.

playing it in Aug when im down with a couple of friends who are members. we always play off the very back tee's only hole i play well is the 18th:(

Second rounder leader Daniel Brooks is from my club. He has missed a few cuts in a row, so it's great to see him doing well.

Spoke to him on captains day at the club a few weeks ago, he said he felt like his form has changed, and then he finished 20th last week.
I hope he has a good weekend.

Went yesterday to my first ever experience of a tournament and loved it.

Arrived before 8 and headed to the range, watched Justin and MAJ ( lol the warm up) then Phil. What a pleasure seeing him, although you could tell he was pushing a few.

I've played Gullane loads so could relate to the shots and how much better they actually are. It really does show just how much better they are...miles and miles away from the game I play. The course isn't the best for spectating being flat in alot of places, but if you avoid the Phil/Justin group it was fine.

The facilities were terrific, the chipping/putting etc was fun, food predictably average and over priced but no stress I was just loving the whole thing.Compared to football tickets the value is night and day..£30 for 9/10 hours entertainment.

I'm going back tomorrow!

Great to hear you enjoyed the experience. I love getting close to the top players (easier at the range) to watch their prep, swing etc. TV doesn't do these guys justice in some ways as they are all sooo good. but when your beside them they are deffo playing a game from another planet from us haha.

I've booked for next Wed at The Open and taking my dad. Over the moon that teh Champions Challenge is on...cant wait !

I've booked to play Gullane 1&3 in August - first visit so very excited. Booked it on Friday and the lady couldn't have been more pleasant and welcoming (especially as it must have been chaotic there) and she was even excited for me as a new visitor

Enjoy your day !

Went last year and spent a lot of time at the practice ground. One player who really does surprise me is jamieson. The guy strikes an amazing ball and was moving every which way on the command of his caddy, yet never seems to be up there!

I haven't seen any of this so far, so after playing this morning I was looking forward to watching a couple of hours only to find Ive got to listen to Monty waffling in the studio because were waiting for the American broadcasters to start their coverage at a UK event. Utter Crap!!

The 18th? Aye

The 17th being used as the 18th? No chance.

I have actually driven the 17th once [out of play hole].........bounced the bunkers
18th tee is now about 100 yards further back from when I played:lol:
Played with a guy one night when his drive on the 18th finished in the gutter outside of the first shop in the High Street.

I never managed to play Gullane when I was there for 3 months. Although did frequent a couple of pubs! Smashing wee place, would love to play there and North Berwick too

Anyone see Andrew Johnston hole his second and do The Miguel?! (Waiting for the pedants to start banging on about MAJ nicking it from Chi-Chi........)

Looking like a good, close finish at Gullane. Kuchar finished at 11 under, Fowler on the same score with 2 holes left and 3 others at 10 under. (although Marc Warren has finished)
