Wasnt sure whether to post this here or 'ask the experts' area.....anyway plumped for here (probably more viewed )

Visiting this area on Friday January 25th (but staying at Dunfermline ).My lass is visiting her pal in Grangemouth while I hopefully go for a game at 1 of the 5 courses I have found nearest they are:

Grangemouth Golf Club
Polmont Golf Club
Linlithgow Golf Club
West Lothian Golf Club (near Bo'ness )
Kingsfield Golf Centre

Has anyone played any of these courses if so what do you think of them?

At the end of the day I will go for a course that has FULL greens on do not want to play WINTER greens
If it comes to it I will ring the courses up on the morning to see if any have full greens on that day.

So at moment just after comments/opinions on people who have played the courses and what you think of them?

Cheers

West Lothian is the only one to play. I'd travel just a few miles and take in Glenbervie as well.

Linlithgow is ok but not great.

Out of that lot you would be best to play Kingsfield, will be dry underfoot and has USPGA greens, all the others will be like mud baths and have a mixture of winter greens, my advice would be to play Falkirk Tryst, it is sand based so will be dry and you will get full greens.

Thanks for the helpful advice gents.

Happy Hacker: thanks for your kind offer of a game(and about the greens ) but as said looking for full greens.

I have narrowed it down to:

Kingsfield
West Lothian
Falkirk Tryst

So far had reply from West Lothian £12.50 a game, excellent that.

Cheers

i would also rule out Kingsfield as well at the moment, very young 9 hole course, just before christmas i was asked to either carry a mat to play from or play from the rough, they have not long treated the fairways and want them i n good condition for the summer, they are using full greens though, the tryst has some winter greens and some full, i visited west lothian last week( didnt actually play that day, it was throwing it down) but was told that due to them having 27 holes they are able to cut it down to 28 in the winter and play a full 18, the course has only been closed 2 days this winter.
