Scotland v Croatia

Good result for a team of Scotland's capability. Chucky has obviously had a positive effect.

I am in the land of porridge and whisky for a week of work starting 4th November. If anyone fancies a beer or a round of golf then let me know. I am in Inchinnan (Glasgow), Kirkaldy and Prestwick.

Aimed at me?For clarity:

Being Scottish and deciding to live in England and wanting to be allowed to have a say in the referendum is different to being Scottish and deciding to live in England and supporting the national team in any sport...some of the most passionate Scottish guys I know live outside Scotland, they obsess over the football team, which is great. But they're still not getting a say next year, and their opinion counts for nowt unless they're on the electoral role up here.

Oh I know...

Imight be a little concerned if I thought tyhe future of the country could lie in the hands of some temporary residents of Scotland who could head off from whence they came the day after the referendum. But not my problem - as I don't live in Scotland - I don't get a vote - and I am told what happens in Scotland has no interest to me or is any business of mine - I'm told.

I'm only telling you what my English wife said to me.

Talk about sleeping with the enemy

Re Croatia - with them having to win their play-off game(s) then surely NO game is meaningless. Indeed a game in the lead up to their play-off games take on significant importance - especially for players brought in for regular starters desperate to prove their worth and get a chance of a start in the PO and a ticket to Brazil.

I'd have thought that for Croatia the fact that their 2nd position in Scotlands Group was guaranteed was irrelevant for many if not all of the players - they would desperately have wanted to put on a cracking show and produced a good win against the minnow that is Scotland these days (but at least hopefully one day fairly soon we will turn into a frog and make great leaps and bounds :))

So I am having nothing take anything away from a cracking result by our lads!

Why are you talking all this football Babble. You should know that I don't understand the game other than just kick the ball. ;)

Snelly, there are a few men who'll happily host you for very little in Ayrshire. PM me for details and I'll let them ken.

In fact we've an outing on Millport on the 9th if you're interested. You do require plus fours though

Unless you've got something sorted already that is.

Thanks for this. Very kind. Unfortunately my week has got much busier now and I now don't have the spare time I had previously. Scotland for Monday and Tuesday, fly to Bristol on Wednesday then in Paris on Thursday night and Friday.

Shame as I would like to meet some of the Scottish guys from the forum for a game.

It's not always that bad but I do travel a lot. An unusual amount of flying that week. I'm the Sales Director of a software company and we specialise in Aerospace and Logistics. Going to see Rolls-Royce Aero Engines and Spirit Aerostructures in Scotland, Airbus in Filton then DB Schenker at Charles De Gaulle.
