Hi

Maths is not my strong point... Therefore when writing the scorecard can I use box c or d for a running total as it's easier?

It just saves time for my poor mathematics.

I would have thought that the best thing to do would be to take a spare scorecard with you.
It'd make things easier for when you completely cock your addition up and also gives you the facility to mark down your fairways hit, greens hit, number of putts etc., etc., etc..

Slime.

from a competition rules perspective........

1. the rules only require (in the context of scores) that the layers gross score for each hole is entered

2. I have seen club's LRs that would DQ you for putting 'things' in these boxes!

in the latter case, you would be in the right, the committee in the wrong, but still DQ :)

Slime's suggestion is excellent - until clubs charge for cards I would suggest that there is no reason not to do it this way

I think you need to improve your maths sir! Unless your racking up cricket scores you should be able to add them up. Marking a scorecard correctly is integral to playing competitively. Don't mean to sound harsh, but you need to be able to do this.

I can do maths.... Just not as quick as others and don't want to seem I'm taking my time checking it over and over again.

I must point out that I have not marked a card incorrectly and plan on never!

I find a quick and easy way to cross check your adding is using 5's as a marker with 9 being 45 then add the plus and minus from 5 on each hole.
