If a player forgets to hand in his scorecard at end of his round and takes it home, can he bring it back and put it in the box to count or at what point does it not count

As per others - if the comp has closed it will not count for the comp.
Particularly when the WHS comes in it must be returned or handicap.
An interesting topic now that we are moving to online entry AND the Covid situation. This year have have been getting players to key their own cards into an App. (scores verified by playing partner) One slightly absent minded former college lecturer at our club has (genuinely) "forgotten" to key in his scores twice now. Once a good score, once not good. Those scores haven't been entered as you cant key them after the comp has closed and he didn't give them to the club to key.. bet he's chucked the cards out too!
I've checked the "decisions book" for "dozy herberts" but can't find anything!!
So, when you say "MUST" be recorded, what if it isnt?
Interesting. So, if a players wants their handicap to go down, and they shoot a bad score, they can just "forget" to enter their score. Or, if a player shoots a very good score, but find out it is still not good enough for the win, they can just "forget" to enter their score and avoid a handicap cut?At the moment all scores are entered via the computer. Scorecards are not signed, 1 card could cover everyone in the group, and they are put in the recycling bin as soon as they have been entered. No pictures taken, all is done on trust. The comp is closed at the end of the day, around 8pm at the moment. If you have forgotten to enter your score then you will be classed as a NR. They would not hold up the whole comp for the forgetful golfer/s.

I appreciate we are in difficult covid times, and clubs are doing their best to keep things going. So, the above is not a criticism in the slightest. However, omitting golfers who have not entered their score, for whatever reason, will mean their handicap record wiil not be updated to reflect how they played
The aim is it is for this year only, it is not a permanent situation. We are all just happy to be playing, the rest is just detail ?.Interesting. That sounds like a whole lot of unneccesary work. What do you do if the player hasn't made a record of his scores on his marker's card?We have cards 'must be returned' we verify players record against the markers recorded scores. We can record the scores on the PSI computer ask member of staff to do it for you or use the IG app. Some take a photo of the card and enter the scores when they get home.
