Scarborough

Just been away in the tent for long weekend to Scarborough, well Filey actually just down the road. So with the HID and the two kids everything rammed in car off we go. 4 hrs later we get there as had to stop and feed youngest, set tent up go for a walk. A golf course at the end of the campsite!! Bugger no clubs!! Looks nice and never played links golf. So mental note if we come back get roof box and take clubs. Then in the laundry room is a magazine rack and I pick up last Junes today's golfer and a review of ganton golf club which is about 8 miles from where we are!! Double whammy! So text round to lads to sort out weekend away!!

Ganton is the place to play. Walker Cup has been played there. it is certainly a target of mine at some stage.

The Ryder Cup has been played their also. Ben Hogan was captain of the USA at the time !!! It's an awesome course which is very tight of the tee as the bunkering is very tough. Surprisingly it was very very quiet when we played there a couple of years back.

Ganton is fantastic and well worth a trip, I understand Filey is good too and there are also a couple of nices courses in Scarborough, if you come back let me know and I'll take you for a knock at my course, Malton, which is only abot 20 miles away.
