I knew Giggs and Neville were buying Salford City FC but now it seems they're looking to change the name and make Scholes the manager.
Im not sure it'll work to be honest. I'd imagine they'll be an initial interest but for how long.

Im sure some will try to compare them to FC united but this is totally the opposite of what FC United are about, they're looking to progress on their own terms

It looks like Giggs & Neville's aim is to buy their way through the league pyramid with the article quoting Championship football within 15 years. Its not something I agree with but it'll be interesting to see how it pans out non the less.

They are not going to change the name or teh backroom staff. neville did an interview about it last night. Always though that they may have bought Fc United, However with ryan giggs brother playing for them I think that might have been an issue ;)

Scholes as manager? Funniest thing ive ever heard. Maybe a good coach but not a manager.

Did you see him on sky for the Manchester derby? Charisma of plastic bag and had to force the words out. :D

If a lower league player can't play for a Legend like Scholes then there's something wrong in his head. I suspect he'll do a great job.. How much charisma do you need, when you've got Legend status?

FC United are owned and democratically run by its members, anyone can join for £12. They won't be selling out anytime soon ;)

Im glad they've decided to keep the Name 'Salford City' Anything else would just look like an ego trip for them.
It probably partially is,Alongside a love of the game, but if nothing else it'll be good for non league football, Especially at a time when some fans might be getting disillusioned at the thought of certain players being payed £300k a week .

To be fair I don't think any of them are oozing Charisma but between them there must be a vast amount of knowledge picked up over the years working under Ferguson.
I agree though about doing it at the top level. I think its hard to know if any ex player will make a good manager until they're thrown in at the deep end.

Legend status or not you need more than that imo. Gary Neville is less of a legend but I think would make a better manager.

I think Scholes would be a useful coach though. Mind you it would be like Justin Rose trying to teach us lot how to play golf, he is bound to get pissed off when they cant do it :D
