S1 v G5 - Garmin GPS Help appreciate before tonights purchase!

I have been debating whether to buy the S1 or S3 but this MotoActv looks like it might be a cheaper alternative. How did you check if your course was included in their mappings? I've searched their website but cant find anything, any help would be greatly appreciated.

All the courses can be downloaded onto the Motoactv, and you can also create your own course mappings if you register.


If you go for a Motoactv, make sure you get one with the golf features on it already (although if you dont, you can download them and install it yourself.)

As I said above, I love mine and much prefer it to the Garmin S3.

Woke up this morning to breakfast in bed and a package... I obviously knew what it was until I opened it and was suprised to see she had actually brought me the S3... cant wait to get on the course and have a good look at it

They will be stacking up behind you as you try everything out.

I didn't know that, but unfortunately, I haven't got my game to a level to compete in competitions yet!!!

I have the Garmin ProLogic. It does other stuff but the novelty for the other stuff wore off pretty quickly and I only ever use it for distance to front back and middle. (Very occasionally I measure my drive if Ive hit a screamer)I do use it from the fairway at every hole though. Its key to know your distances almost to the yard for it to be of maximum use, but if you are anything like me, you wont use all the functionality it has and you would be as well with the basic S1 which will save you a bundle. If you're a real gadget man who uses all the functions for everything all the time, then get the S5 obviously.
