Bought a s1 trolley second hand as soon as battery is connect the wheels start why is this

Yes it is switched off at handle and switch does nothing at all to change speed either

Maybe that was the reason the previous owner was selling it??

The switches start to go after a few years, one of the reasons I sold mine (with full disclosure I add). Have a look under the trolly, the wires can become exposed and short circuit. In any case looks like a visit to the repair shop

I wouldn't know mate sorry, if underneath looks good it's probably inside the handle itself. If you're good with electrics then go for it, I'd be going to an expert.

Maplins used to sell a can of compressed air for PCB cleaning of computers. May be worth obtaining a can, taking the top of the cover off and just giving the circuit board and good spray clean although if it a known fault it could be avoiding the inevitable

Most likely the switch in handle. I bought one from electric golf trolley spares for £15.50.

Changed the control box and this has stopped the wheels spinning when power is off but nw the wheels only spin backwards and with no weight on them

Have you got the wheels on the correct way round. I.e. the one marked R on the right?
