Ryder Cup 2018

Mmmmmm 2 miles from Channel Tunnel - could be worth a trip!

Chris

I'm already thinking about going to Paris for the week, spending 3 or 4 nights in a cheap hotel (I know of some good'uns from my travelling days) and going for the whole week.

7 years should be enough time to save up the money to afford it all! :D

Also if you rplanning on taking the car 7 years should be enough notice for you to give the Mrs :D

pmsl quality reply Johno :D

Cheap! .. Paris! ... those two words don't belomg in the same sentence mate!

Chris

Its the course that the players wanted. Great decision if you ask me. Course looks awesome and as Dodger says the closing holes are designed for an exciting matchplay finish.

According to what I read somewhere the French believe they can get 100,000 viewers over the last 4 holes.

The course is supposed to be mint too.

If these are true it'll make for some great golf.

You're right, but you can get some reasonable priced accommodation that's cheap and cheerful (less than £60 per room per night) if you look in the right places ;)

I might have to give it a miss, as i will probably be visiting Leftie and Smiffy in their nursing homes. :D

seen those, tucked up under the arches of the bridges aren't they? bit open air and the neighbours . . . !

Well to be honest that was a surprise, i thought it would be either Portugal or Spain. But France?? but hay, not that far away, so it might be a nice few days to watch some golf, jump on a train and presto your there nearly(depends where the course is).

Apparently it'll be Rory's 5th RC if he gets into all the teams.
Good course, the Pro's like it and that has to count.
Isn't this the one where Monty putted off the green into the lake on the 18th..?

I bet there won't be any soap in the showers. If they have showers.

heard the're filling in all water hazards as French players cant cope with them under pressure :D

They hold the French Open there and it doesn seem to provide some good finishes and the last few holes aren't gimmes so it could be interesting come the singles. I think its a good thing to be fair. Decent venue, good viewing, a chance for France to develop as a golfing nation, easy access for most of Europe. What isn't to like apart from the French!

Think it was the right choice. Established European Tour venue too which will help the European Team. As others have already posted, was the preferred choice of the players and has a cracking closing stretch suited for matchplay. From what I have seen of it on Sky's coverage, looks a great course.
