Rust on shafts

I’ve had some rust on my 8i steel shaft which is currently away getting replaced but I’ve noticed something on my 9i and a couple of others and can’t tell if it’s a ding or rust pitting. What’s everyone’s thoughts? The pic with several dots is the 8i after the rust was cleaned off and the other pic is the 9i with the ding/pitting I’ve noticed. I’m hoping it’s just a ding as I don’t want to have to send the whole set back. My clubs are always dried off and cleaned down.

Okay simple thing to do is rub them with wet aluminium foil. This will react and the chrome will reappear where there was rust.

Thanks, does the single bit look like pitting or just a ding tho? I’ve given them all a rub with wd40.

Thanks, the 2nd pic is getting replaced but I was worrying if the first pic was pitting or a ding. If it’s a ding that’s a relief as there’s the same mark on a few other clubs. What can cause dings to the shafts?

Any small impacts, could happen before or after installation

Worry when they are big but these are very small ??

Cool, thanks. I was going to keep the clubs another year then change but when I saw that I thought maybe change now.
