Rules question from this months GM

I am always staggered at how wrong people can be on this ruling. It doesn't help that the rule in the book is unclear, and you need to refer to decisions.

But I was pointing out the difficulty of the rule. You certainly can take a picture of the leaves but you cant take a picture as it was before the incident and, you know, I bet they would find for the Captain anyway!

Just win by more than one hole? Case solved lol.

If, on your practice swing, your club hits something and breaks it off which then clears your swing path, it's a penalty.

I'm with you on that one Bob. That puts it nice and clear. Read it and interpret it how you like but if you knock something from the tree that improves your swing then it is a penalty. I think it is pretty straight forward really.

But, there again, most people are slightly away from their ball when the practice swing is taken and very rarely is the practice swing anything like the real lunge at the ball. So they could argue that anything disturbed on the practice swing probably won't have affected the real swing (unless a branch or something was knocked off).

I meant take a picture of the tree - bring the leaves back with you :D
