Thought it was quite telling as well that a lot of the guys like Harrington ad Westwood were there to see him as he came off the course. As Europeans you'd expect that but I thought it was a great touch and shows how well thought off he must be that guys like Kim and Furyk in particular (being more of an old campaigner) were equally as warm in their congratulations

I think the last time we saw a round of golf like that from a youngster under that pressure was Tiger, Rory is as long as Tiger, more accurate of the tee has a more balanced less aggresive swing than Tiger, is easily as good if not better with his irons but Tiger has a better short game at the moment.

You have to remember Rory has been the next big thing for a few years and it has not fazed him, I have no doubts (as a Massive Tiger fan) that Rory will be the next long term world number 1.

I'd be looking for 5 wood!

No wonder he's got a bad back!

He did come up well short of the flag on 18 so he probably only hit 7 iron 190!

Technically, I don't think there is another golfer who matches up to Rory regardless of him being 20 or whatever age.

IMO he is a world #1 in waiting, before he is 25 may be a big call but I think he is more than capable. Whether he will have the longevity or dominance that TW had I would doubt as the pool of capable winners is growing each week.

He's got what it takes. But didnt everyone say this about Sergio at roughly the same age ??

Rory is without doubt one of the best ball strikers in the game, if not the best. But he needs to become a more consistent putter, which will hopefully come in time. When it does......he will be no 1.

I am a huge tiger fan but if you said to me rory would beat him i would happily agree...
