Rory McIlroy comp live!

I wouldn't refuse a round with most Pro's. Though will admit I'd love the opertunity to play a round of golf with the likes of Darren Clarke, J.M.Jiminez, Lee Westwood, Thomas Bjorn, Jarmo Sandelin, Colin Montgomerie, Jeev Milkha Singh, Ian Poulter, Markus Brier, to name but a few off the European Tour.

I'd also love to play a round of golf with greats like: Greg Norman, Sam Torrance, Mark James, Tony Jonhnstone. etc.

But Would not refuse a round with Rory as no matter how young he is, as a golfer, what better way to watch such a young genious at work than to play a round of golf with the New Pretender to the Throne.

Don't get me wrong, I think he's a remarkable talent but for me the optimum would be one of life's greats, DC, Monty, Nick Faldo, Langer, Laura Davies.

I'm with you esentially on that Viscount17. Though each generation will have who they consider to be greats.

For instance although I think at the moment Rory is playing better than Harrington, It would be Harrington I'd prefer to play a game of Golf.

Infact my first choice would Be Darren Clarke even then & look where he is in the ststs at the moment.

So I'm backing up what you say, I'm just tempering this with the fact that I wouldn't turn down a round with Rory & he would certainly come further up the pecking order than some pro's on tour too. Lets just say I wouldn't be ungreatful if offered the chance.

Im a little confused by this. The competition is a game of golf round a fantastic course with Rory and some folks decide they would rather chat about a round with someonw else? I think that deserves a seperate thread, not here I think the word ungrateful applies here. I wouldnt care who it was, last year it was a round with the guy Scotland (ive forgotten his first name) and noone mentioned playing with anyone else. Just my tuppence.

I can't think of a better way to spend my 40th birthday than to be playing 18 with Rory - what a talent & I'm sure I can learn a couple of things of the young whippersnapper !
;)
