There are guys who play football and their are guys who are just footballers and Rooney is in the Worlds Top 1 of football players. Why can't other players show the same committment drive and ambition he has to just play football.

He knows that once its over and done with he can do what he pleases but the only thing that pleases him at the moment is getting the ball and playing.

Football is littered with pre-maradonnas who just want the image and prestige of being Premiership and once they sign for a big club they think they have arrived instead of aiming higher.

I just wish the ugly bugger wiz a Jock.

I heard Crouch was asked in an interview what he would be if he wasn't a footballer??

Apart from the fact that he scored against Fulham today its been great to see him this season. He is on fire. I actually think Capello has been good for him too as he seems less petulant as an England player and less likely to get himself into trouble. he can barely string 3 words together for an interview
his family are also a load of uneducated slobs

Thank goodness for Coleen who tells him what to do and has calmed him down in the last year and stopped him sha***ng grannies

The only reason that he is at the top of his career is that everything he does is totally natural, it is uncomplicated by thought processes.

Dont get me wrong, I want him to win the world cup for ENGLAND.

But dont build him up into something he isnt.

I find this totally disrespectful to Rooney and his family.
Have you met his family and can substantiate these claims?

I think he has matured as a person over the years and comes across well at interviews.

Some while ago I heard an interview on the radio from the guy who wrote a book about him. He needed 3 or 4 two hour interviews with him at his house, (this was before he met Coleen), Rooney invited him to a room where there were no distractions, his mobile phone was switched off and gave the interviewer his undivided attention. Unlike some footballers/sportspeople that he had interviewed in the past.

His Mother had all of Waynes school reports from primary, and all of his reports from the football academy. Doesn't sound like a slob of a Mother to me.

As for wanting Rooney to win the World Cup for England, as good as he undoubtedly is, he cannot do it on his own.
We have as good a chance of winning with him as any other Country, and a much lesser chance without him.
