Watching him on the news is just cringworthy.
Just watching him talk about Bankers bonuses on the news,unbelievably bad.
Obviously very clever though

Miserable as sin - glass half empty would be a optimistic outlook for him. He's probably knocked at least 1% off the growth rate just by being so negative.

Him and the rest of the BBC. They drive me nutso with headlines "the UK is heading for a double dip recession" (etc etc) and then somewhere later in the report "according to...some thinktank or other". If it aint actual factual news then shut the f up and let the country recover!

As for Peston - I can't listen to him and think he thinks his stupid irritating affected voice is his USP...idiot.

his blog is good to read but i cant stand listening to him.

I have teweeted him before to ask why he speaks very slowly and then randomly speeds up all the time.

I think he is personally responsible for the run on Northern Rock a couple of years back, he is so negative and patronising in his reporting style that he could easily talk us back into recession.

Im also not a fan of Stephanie Flanders either for similar reasons although she is slightly easier on the eye

I Think Jonny Vegas would be a great replacement

You can virtually see the news reader cringe as he starts to speak.
At least he recognizes hes crap on tele.
Sometimes i cant believe how good his reports are when hes not speaking
directly to someone.
