RIP Sean Connery

Sir Sean Connery was one of my favorites from James Bond to Jimmy Malone he was great. I'm sorry that he's gone but his films will live forever.

Watched Jimmy Malone again this evening and was reminded that the fantastic score was by another great that we lost in 2020, Ennio Morricone. :(

Wife & I sat just in front of him on the last day of the Open at Lytham in 1969, Jacklin's year. We've got the season ticket with his autograph somewhere in the loft. Apparently he didn't give out many autographs, he must have been in a good mood that day.

I nearly nutted him in the face opening the bathroom door at Gleneagles many years ago. He just laughed when I said "terribly sorry Mr Bond".
Definitely the best Bond and anyone who thinks Roger Moore should be made to sit through the last three appalling films he did in the role.
Connery - Craig - Moore - Dalton - Brosnan - Lazenby.

And Connery was outstanding in The Untouchables and his cameo at the end of Robin Hood Prince of Thieves just makes that film. RIP. One of the very best.

I watched to documentary on the BEEB last night that appeared went I went to watch another recorded programme and it that recorded, good watch, lots of interviews with his co stars from his films and a lot of interviews with the man himself. Amused to see a very young Boris Johnson sitting next to him in a Parkinson show.

I posted this on here before.
As a young assistant Pro I had the pleasure of serving and talking golf with Mr Connery for about 10 minutes without having a clue who he was.:unsure:
He was filming Goldfinger in Edinburgh and my excuse for not recognising him was that he was not wearing his 'Bond' wig.

Great as Bond but I thought his best film was with Caine in The Man Who Would Be King.

I always thought he was excellent in every role he played but it did strike me that, as good an actor as he was, in every role he was especially good at playing Sean Connery...

Yes, funny how he got away with it for all those years Russian Irish etc.
He certainly had an aura about him off and on the screen.
Milkman to R&A member, not many have done that.

All Russian submarine captains have Scottish accents apparently...

Pedantry alert but Ramius in HFRO was Lithuanian, Soviet yes but not Russian.;) In film it is mentioned as part of the reason he may want to defect.

What other ones were there?
