Right Sided Golf

I'm not saying I was taught to move off the ball. What this does is allow me is to stay centred and deliver the cub more efficiently. I'm confused by your comment about marketing. Part of the reason for this thread is I had never come across it before, yet Gary Edwin , Billy Bondaruk et al have been advocating this for 20+ years. If there has been marketing its been pretty poor!

Pure speculation , but because it's not the "PGA" method? Had this very conversation with two friends on Thursday. One is a pro and the other used to be one. We came to the conclusion that the golf swing is not a "one size fits all". Not exactly a "No s*** Sherlock" moment I know! I happen to be getting terrific results with it, some may not.

Slight tangent, but I thought it was worth adding to this thread.

At the weekend, Peter Senior (aged 56!) won the Australian Masters. Beat Adam Scott amongst other notables.

I believe that he is coached by Gary Edwin and therefore is something of a 'right sided swing' man.

As a 51 year old, that gives me another 5 years to get it together.

I've been a strong advocate for stack and tilt over the years, I switched to it and 6 months later shot a PB 4 under par (although you need to have a putter on fire to have a day like that) but I'd be interested to read more about your progress with right-sided. I've been to a local academy (it's closed now) and know the pattern fairly well, one of my local pros now teaches it and my next door neighbour follows the pattern. I'm not a great fan but I AM interested in hearing about results as I haven't really ever heard of ANY from amateur golfers. BTW, how old are you?

Regards
James.

Note, Sam Quirke at The Drift golf club (which is fairly near you?) teaches stack and tilt and you could do a lot worse than going to see him just for a chat about the difference between the two patterns.

Absolutely correct. He is in the Gary Edwin camp.

Personally I find him not a great communicator, its just that his videos are there for all to see and they give an illustration.

Hi James

Starting back to front, I might well have a chat with Sam the next time I am over there. I do know the GM pretty well and visit a couple of times a year. However I am happy with Andy Kirk right now and I'm easily confused!!

My age is 54 and in my late 40's before I stopped playing regularly I had been a 5/6/7 hcp for the preceding 10 years.

I have a lesson booked this Weds and will be posting my numbers here afterwards. I hope they bring some clarity to things. I am not some physical freak, just a chunky , short, middle aged man.

Cheers

PN
