WTF!

The guy just chucked in the towel!!!

Burns rode a hell of a storm and then came out even stronger and Gonzo didn't have the will or the bottle to continue!!!

Couldn't believe that there, the guy was cruising till that tear up in the 7th round. :o

Heart and legs went after giving Ricky a bleaching for 7 rounds and realised he was still standing and coming back stronger!!!

I reckon once Gonzales sorts the "broken" hand and ups his overall fitness he will clear up at this weight. I didn't give Burns one round last night.

Gonzo was sharp on the front foot, calm on the back foot and after the brawl he just didn't have anything in the tank.

Anyone catch the Simpson/Choi fight? Probably the better fight

Burns broke him. Gonzo gave his all for 7 rounds and was shocked at how Burns stood up to it all and came back for more. Sign of a true fighter is a man who can defeat a better boxer.

Burns certainly has a strong chin and has shown he's capable of taking a punch.

Big time, I fancy we may see a rematch. Burns would have lost this fight had it went the distance, Gonzo must have wondered what happended when Burns came out so strong after the pasting he took.

Well done Ricky.

Yes, a great fight with the wrong result.

Just goes to show what you can get from a guy with a 'padded' record, a high KO rate, yet never been 12 rounds!

Gonzalez totally out boxed Ricky, but having a massive heart and a great engine are massive attributes to have at World level, kudos to Ricky for that. As others have said I think Ricky broke his spirit by taking his best and coming back strong. Don't foget Ricky hasn't fought in 9 months, so a little rust is not unexpected.

Thought it was all over at the end of the 6th. Yes Burns rocked him in the 7th but even if Gonzalez had broken his hand he was so far ahead on points surely he could have jabbed home. Heart and bottle went

He was running scared by then as well. He lost it psychologically after realizing that his best was not good enough to put Burns down. Burns rattled him and hurt him in the 6th which shocked him as sure he was about to put Burns on his backside. That was the turning point.

Gonzalez would have gone with one good punch.

And it did appear Burns would too but it just didn't happen. Heart of a lion the wee man.
