Reviewers Wanted

Just registered. I think the main site, before registration needs to give more of a clue what's inside. Lots of people will be reluctant to sign up for something they can't see, even if it is free.

Had a quick look. I must admit I like this type of format. Like to pick and mix so as to speak. Have star rated a few. Will give more feed back when I get chance to study in more depth. But looks good so far.

Wow.... a member for 8 days?

Call me a skeptic but I wonder what the agenda was??????????

Not for me. Quite surprised to see so many forumers jumping on the spamwagon.

Hi Zeek

Thanks for signing up - I have upgraded your account.

Good point about seeing what's involved before people sign up.

You can see 'that' page here:

http://www.youronlinegolfcoach.co.uk/

The reason I didn't send anyone to that page is because it's is where paying members go to join for the first time.

I set up a free membership page so that I didn't have to have any overly complicated shopping cart code to programme.

Hope that makes sense

thanks
Steve

Looks like the site needs more than 1024. That makes sense these days, but when I check it out on the iPad, the navigation tabs wrap, sort of oddly.

I'd say that iPad and other mobile views are important - if I was paying for this service, I'd be quite tempted to take it down to the range with me...

Hi Justone

sorry mate I'm a little confused to what's happened here.

Have you been a member for 8 days already? I only launched it on the forum yesterday.

'If something seems too good to be true - it probably is' or "you get nothing in this world for nothing"

I do understand the skeptisism about it possibly being spam and I can assure you that could not be further from the truth.

So I just wanted to clarify what's on offer here and to maybe give you some insight as to why it's free, there are a couple of main reasons:

The first is because I agreed it with Mike and in return for giving away all of our content we get people that will test the site to make sure it works properly so that we can iron out anything that doesn't work as it should.

We'll receive useful feedback about the content and people will make suggestions about what we can do better - and we've already had some great suggestions...which we have already started to take on board.

The second is because it will get more people talking about our membership and by word of mouth we will get more 'paying' customers.

The cost to us is negligible because it's digital content and I have set everything up to be hosted on cloud severs owned by Amazon. And none of the Forum members that have signed up will ever be charged anything and they can stay as long as they like...forever if they want to.

Another big reason for us is we are also hoping to take over our own driving range in April next year, so the membership is a unique selling point to our 'real world' students that not many other Pro's can offer. We've been building our brand up over the last two years and we're planning on being around for a long time.

I hope you can see this is genuine offer...if you have problems getting into the site please let me know and I will sort it out for you.

If like you say it's not for you...well I respect that too, we know it's not to everyone's taste.

I Hope this makes sense
cheers
Steve

Hi Zeek

Thanks for that, I know where you're coming from.

It's been a something we've been wrestling with 'a lot'. Trying to get cross browser reliability seems to get harder everyday, so we went for the one that served the most people.

We are currently working on making things properly accessible from mobile devices...I expect that to happen around April (we'll that's our current timeline)

It's interesting that you'd take it to the range. We thought people may not do that due to signal problems due to streaming videos. Which is why we made the iPhone apps with the content as downloads directly into the iPhone/iPod.

Thanks for the feedback and I'll let you know when the content works on mobile devices

thanks
Steve

Hi Steve, had a look at a couple of the beginners secrets videos and found them really informative. One little gripe would be that the sound, in places, is not too good on them. I like the setup of the homepage and found it easy to navigate around the site. overall good first impressions.
