Hi Guys & Girls

Thanks for all the replies and to everyone that's signed up...and thanks to those who have decided not too...I respect that it's not for everyone.

It was certainly not my intention to take over the forum by continual bumping of the thread...to be honest I didn't expect as many people to take a look.

In order to stop this thread from expanding ever more and annoying people, if you would like to receive access please just send me a PM or contact me at my site and I'll sort you out.

...with hindsight that's probably what I should have done to start with.

I have upgraded everyone's account that signed up today!

Please accept my apologies to anyone I've upset, I will make amends over the coming weeks and months with my continued participation in the GM Forum...it's the best one I've been on by far!

And I will look forward to coming to some of the meets too.

I hope that over time people will realise there is nothing sinister or devious in my request for reviewers and I hope that the people that have signed up will get some benefit from our coaching.

Thanks Steve, and I think that most people will enjoy your help/assistance.

I think that there are people out there with trust issues..... hope it sorts itself out.

And if I would have pulled tonight there is no way I would be posting on here lol

Couple of points gents.
1, spam is unsolicited Bulk mail/messages sent from unknown sources usually.
2, Steve sought permission to get reviews/feedback.

Now, while it is not something I will avail off, I know that there are also half a dozen regular members who have commercial links in their sigs/bio's and may or may not have asked for the same permission out of politeness.

This matter is now closed as I think those who either don't understand what spam is or those who do not wish to use the currently free services, have made their point.

sorry for posting in wrong section last night bit tipsy. having again read the forums FAQ/guidelines i think i know what spamming is and this is spamming. here is one of the rules
•Posts that are considered SPAM - i.e. posts or messages that are submitted purely in a bid to promote/sell services and/or products.
i havent posted this to get the last word etc and i wont post anymore on the subject

I don't really understand why you have such a bee in your bunnet about this. The guy asked permission and received it so it's not spam. It seems to me the only reason you replied to Brendy was to get the last word. If the guy had just posted on the forum it would have been pulled the same as the rest of the spam that tries to get through.

Hi Mike,

We'd like to make some money and thought we could blag some of your long standing GM followers over to our site, a few hundred should get us started, you don't really want these people getting free advice in your own forum and promoting Golf Monthly do you?

I am sure when Mike comes back if there is a problem the thread will be deleted and I for one would no longer visit the site or trust the people behind it. It would do them more harm than good to have misled MIke.

After reading your other posts on other parts of the site I am supervised by how much you are against this thread. You gave a lot of free time recently helping people understand things and this bloke is also offering a free service to us for feedback (yes he eventually intends to make money but has offered it tree to GM members)

With out making any personal attacks but to put things in perspective I have previously followed the link in your sig! is that not free advertising?


I just dont see the problem Mike has agreed?!?!?!

#bump#...again.

I'm happy for Steve (or his boss) to come here and give as much free advice as he likes, and 2 years down the line when he's catching up with Homer in post count we'll all raise a glass to him, the more the merrier, it's a community.... if he wants a sig then he can ask Mike, like I did.

As it happens he's made a polite post (about 10 posts ago) which acknowledged a certain insensitivity perhaps, personally I'm cool with that but if you want to keep talking about it we can............?

I was pointing out the fact that you dont want to talk about this anymore because 10 posts or so it was resloved ....but yet you keep coming back.....

I think you work for him and are trying to get more publicity!
